As of June 2024, we feed our cats only Royal Canin brand wet and dry food. They have food designed for each stage of growth as well as specialized formulas for specific breeds. I was made aware of their breeder program from the breeder I purchased Rosemary from and was impressed with the package presented with her. As such I decided I would like to provide that comfort to those that adopt my kittens.
Adult Diet - (over 12 months)
My adult cats now eat exclusively the Maine Coon specialized dry food. It is a much larger kibble designed for the large square jaws of the Maine Coon breed.
This kibble supports oral hygiene, joint support for their larger size and promotes cardiac health.
Gestation and Newborn - (Pregnancy to 4 months)
My Queens get switched over to the Mother and Babycat dry food at 4 weeks into pregnancy. As well as given a half can of wet food twice daily. This formula conveniently works well to provide the mother cat with the nutrients she needs to support the development of her kittens, as well as continue to support the kittens when weening off of mother.

I continue to feed the mother cat the wet food until she has more or less finished producing milk for her kittens. Once her kittens are rehomed or are over 4 months old, she is transitioned back to the adult dry food.

Kittens feed off of mother entirely until about 4 weeks old. Usually during weeks 4-8 the kittens will gradually transition from feeding from mother to eating the dry food on their own. Introducing the wet food can be tricky as it can often require some light force feeding to get them to get a taste for it. But once they do, they quickly recognize what it is when placed in front of them.

I also keep a supply of milk replacement formula on hand just in case of any complications with either mother or kittens. Luckily I've only encountered one situation where I've needed it, and hopefully won't again.
Kitten Diet - (4 to 12 months)
At 4 months old I begin feeding my kittens the next stage of wet and dry foods. The dry is a similar small size kibble as the mother and babycat, but with a slightly different formula to support their continued growth. The wet food is considerably different being instead of a pate or mousse, it is strips of meat in gravy. Giving the kittens something more chewable and closer to what prey might feel like eating.
